Blueberry Green Tea Martini
Blueberry Green Tea Martini Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh blueberries (plus extra for garnish)
- 2 teaspoons green tea leaves or 1 green tea bag
- 1 cup hot, not boiling, water (approximately 175 degrees)
- 2 ounces blueberry vodka
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lemon twist or mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Steep the Green Tea:
- Place the green tea leaves in a heatproof container. Pour hot water over the tea. Allow it to steep for 3-5 minutes, then remove the tea leaves or bags. Let the tea cool to room temperature, or place it in the refrigerator to chill more quickly.
Muddle the Blueberries:
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle fresh blueberries until to release their juices and color.
Combine the Ingredients:
- Add the cooled green tea, blueberry vodka, and simple syrup to the blueberries. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
Shake the Martini:
- Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, or until well chilled.
Prepare the Glass:
- If desired, chill a martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes before preparing the drink.
Strain and Serve:
- Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass to ensure a smooth cocktail.
Garnish with a few fresh blueberries, a lemon twist, or a mint leaf on top for an aromatic and visually appealing touch. Serve immediately.
Tips:
- Adjust the amount of simple syrup based on sweetness preference. More or less blueberries can be used depending on the sweetness of the berries.
- For an even smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove all blueberry skins and pulp.
- Experiment with different green tea varieties for a different flavor profile.
The Blueberry Green Tea Martini is a unique and elegant cocktail that combines the healthful properties of green tea with the vibrant taste of blueberries and the smoothness of vodka. It's perfect for a sophisticated evening and is as refreshing as it is refined.
